Breast Lift With Implants Plastic Surgery Recovery

Model, not actual patient.

Owing to the advancements in healthcare and surgical technology, you can now have a less invasive and more effective breast lift with implants cosmetic surgery procedure. Post-surgical recovery can be safe and quick, provided you have chosen treatment with an expert cosmetic surgeon.

However, the recovery will also depend on how well you abide by your surgeon’s post-operative care guidelines. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides breast implants with lift surgery to patients in Dallas, Texas and surrounding locations.

Expected post-surgery downtime

Following your breast implants with lift plastic surgery, it is important to take adequate rest for a few days. It is best to stay home for the first week for a safe healing process. After three days of your surgery, you can start doing short walks and light physical activities at home. These will enhance your blood flow and aid in speedy recovery.

The initial recovery time could vary in accordance with the extent of your surgery. Considering you have a good health condition, you can go back to work in about 1 to 2 weeks after the breast implant lift surgery. However, proper care must be taken when you are out of home.

Avoid lifting heavy weights, and limit your physical activities in such a way that it doesn’t induce much strain in your incisions. After about one month, you may be ready for more vigorous exercises and activities.

Post-operative garments

Your cosmetic surgeon will suggest that you wear a special surgical bra, especially if you have implants placed below your chest muscle or you underwent a significant breast lift. This special bra must be worn at all times for several weeks. It is only recommended to remove them while taking a shower. Once your surgeon allows you to remove the special bra, you should wear a sports bra for another few weeks or months.

To harmonize your implants with the breast muscle and tissue, your surgeon will recommend wearing a wrap-style bandage. This will provide additional support to your breasts. It helps your breasts to adapt to the new shape firmly and naturally.

Quit smoking during recovery

Not just prior to the breast implant lift surgery, but it is recommended not to smoke during the post-operative recovery stage as well. Smoking and any other type of consumption of tobacco products will shrink your blood vessels.

This results in a restricted flow of oxygen. Also, the nicotine will hinder your RBC function thereby extending your recovery period. To sum up, if you are a smoker, then you are at risk of post-surgical complications

Pain management for a comfortable recovery

After your breast augmentation with lift plastic surgery, your surgeon will prescribe oral painkillers. This will help you stay comfortable and manage the initial bruising. At times, the bruising is accompanied by some swelling and soreness. Hence, the medication will help provide you with temporary relief.

Refrain from driving or doing any other activities that demand high attention while you are taking the medication. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan receives patients from Dallas, Texas and nearby areas for breast lift with implants surgery.
