Cosmetic Rhinoplasty Procedures – Correcting The Radix

shutterstock_87595189-284x300 Cosmetic Rhinoplasty Procedures - Correcting The Radix Dallas Plastic SurgeonDorsal or hump reduction could be the right rhinoplasty cosmetic surgery procedure for patients with a nasal bump or hump. A variation of this condition may cause the illusion of a significant nasal bump, called the pseudo-hump or low radix.

The upper bony part of the nose is known as the radix. The radix and underlying cartilage may be significant producing the appearance of a bump. A shallow radix can cause a depression and a bump. The plastic surgeon can reduce the size of the radix by cautiously shaving away small portions.

To add fullness to a depressed area of the nose, the surgeon may use cartilage from another area of the patient’s nose. They can create a straighter slope by augmenting the space right above the radix. The proper management of the radix is important to create a natural nose appearance.

Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides nose surgery to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding locations.

Pseudo-Hump

If the patient has a pseudo-hump, it means that the radix is not properly developed and is under-projecting. This creates a facial profile where the tissue underneath the radix, towards the nasal tip, seems even more rotund than it actually is. The appearance of a pseudo-hump occurs when the radix bone does not project the overlying soft tissue properly.

Correcting an Underdeveloped and Low Radix

Rhinoplasty with radix tissue grafting is the most suitable treatment for an under-projecting radix. Cartilage, fascia, or other soft tissue may be used to augment the radix. The graft is usually a sculpted fragment of cartilage, typically taken from the septum. The surgeon places this graft underneath the skin and muscle of the radix.

The surgeon will augment the deficient bony structure by placing a cartilage graft over the bone where it elevates the depressed soft tissue. This procedure helps develop a much straighter profile without the need to remove any cartilage or bone beneath the radix.

Can you have Weak Radix and a True Hump?

Some patients can have an under-developed radix as well as a true hump. The advantage of addressing these problems at the same time is that the surgeon can perform a more conservative hump removal.

The surgeon will bring the ideal profile line closer to the hump by elevating the position of the radix. This will allow the surgeon to create a straighter profile by removing a lesser portion of the hump.

The outcomes of this procedure look less artificial and more natural due to a stronger nasal starting point.

Correcting Radix as Part of Revision Rhinoplasty

The angle between the frontal and nasal bones of the nose forms the height of the radix. This height should be proportionate to the dorsal height, length, and tip for balanced and aesthetically appealing results.

In case the radix remains too high, or the graft placed during the surgery is too large, the nose will have a Romanesque appearance. Revision rhinoplasty involves reducing the radix to its appropriate and most harmonious proportions compared to other nasal aspects and facial characteristics.

Cosmetic Rhinoplasty Procedures

shutterstock_94701922-300x234 Cosmetic Rhinoplasty Procedures Dallas Plastic SurgeonDepending on the unique needs of the patient, a rhinoplasty surgeon can recommend an appropriate technique. At the time of the pre-operative consultation, the surgeon will establish the patient as a candidate for a specific type of rhinoplasty procedure.

Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides nose surgery to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding locations.

Reduction Rhinoplasty

Reduction rhinoplasty is a common nose reshaping cosmetic surgery technique. It allows the nose to be more harmonious and proportional to other facial characteristics. This procedure can effectively address nasal issues such as an elongated nose tip, wide nostrils, and a nasal bump.

The surgeon will eliminate tiny fragments of cartilage and bone to attain an aesthetically desirable shape. They may use a technique called alar base reduction to shrink the nostrils. This procedure involves removing tiny amounts of tissue from the area where the nostrils connect to the cheek.

Augmentation Rhinoplasty

Another major nose reshaping procedure is known as augmentation rhinoplasty. This procedure involves the surgeon grafting bone or tissue to develop the nasal tip and/or bridge.

Sometimes the surgeon uses cartilage sourced from other locations in the nose, such as the septum. However, if there is insufficient availability of tissue in this area, the surgeon may use cartilage from other parts of the body, rib bone, synthetic material, or other forms of biological tissue.

Post-Traumatic Rhinoplasty

Post-Traumatic rhinoplasty surgery is an effective solution for patients with nasal injuries. This procedure can improve the functionality as well as the appearance of the nose. Post-traumatic nose surgery can address a crooked nose and correct problems in the nasal septum.

Many post-traumatic rhinoplasty patients suffer from fractured noses. In such cases, the surgeon may need to re-fracture the nose. After that, they will reset the nose to attain desirable outcomes. A surgeon can usually set a basic nose fracture within a 10-day period following the fracture.

Reconstructive Rhinoplasty

Reconstructive rhinoplasty can help patients who have lost their full nose or a portion of it to accidents, skin cancer, or another serious disease. The nose surgeon uses various processes such as skin grafts, flap technique, and other innovative techniques to rebuild the nose. This procedure is complicated and may require multiple surgeries over several months.

Ethnic Rhinoplasty

The techniques used in ethnic rhinoplasty are the same as those used in other types of nose reshaping procedures.

People from ethnicities such as African American, Afro-Caribbean, Middle-Eastern, Hispanic, and Asian usually seek ethnic rhinoplasty. In performing ethnic rhinoplasty, the surgeon must make sure that they maintain the integrity and identity of the ethnic face.

Adolescent Rhinoplasty

Most surgeons recommend that teenage patients wait until their nose is completely developed before seeking rhinoplasty surgery. Exceptions may include patients with breathing difficulties or those who have undergone trauma. In addition, the surgeon must ensure that the teenage patient is mentally and emotionally ready to undergo a nose surgery.

BodyTite Contouring Before And After Photos

shutterstock_127194242-300x212 BodyTite Contouring Before And After Photos Dallas Plastic SurgeonBodyTite is an innovative, FDA-cleared device that eliminates fat and tightens skin. BodyTite body contouring procedure uses a unique device, developed to heat dermal tissue from above and within for more uniform outcomes.

Certain surgeons may display BodyTite body contouring before and after images to patients at the time of the initial consultation. This enables the patient to develop realistic expectations from the body contouring procedure. This also helps develop an environment of trust and transparency between the provider and the patient.

Upon understanding the potential outcomes of the BodyTite body contouring procedure, patients can make a more judicious choice regarding the treatment.

Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides BodyTite body contouring to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding locations.

Visual Evidence for Prospective Patients

A surgeon can help new patients feel more confident about BodyTite by showing them before and after images of the procedure to help them attain more clarity on the procedure and its potential results.

Patients can understand the extent to which BodyTite body contouring can sculpt their body when they view before and after images of previous patients. This enables them to make a solid and sensible choice.

A majority of patients gauge that if BodyTite body contouring has effectively sculpted a previous patient’s body, it could potentially do the same for them. BodyTite ‘before and after’ images helps the surgeon and patient to develop trust and transparency between them.

This means that someone can make a custom decision based on exactly what they see. This means they are more comfortable with the decision they make no matter what that decision is.

Specific BodyTite images are not shown on Dr. Khan’s website but other images that are related to this same type of procedure are. This means that someone can view the depth of work that Dr. Khan has completed without notifying anyone and without even leaving their home.

It’s amazing what Internet technology has enabled so many people to do – the world has become flatter. On top of this, these images can be seen using the devices that most people already likely have.

A Picture says it more Eloquently than Words

Images are capable of conveying the true story much more effectively than words can. This is also true for BodyTite body contouring before and after photos. The surgeon will undoubtedly explain various aspects of BodyTite to the patient to help them develop realistic expectations. But words can sometimes be difficult to understand or open to interpretation.

On the other hand, before and after pictures create a powerful visual effect. Images are immune to the barriers of language, and they present the true story. But the cosmetic surgeon must make sure that these images have not been modified or edited as such pictures can mislead the patient.

The saying “A picture is worth more than a thousand words” certainly holds true in the case of before and after images of cosmetic procedures such as BodyTite body contouring.

Use of Social Media to Raise Awareness

Today, social media platforms have near-universal appeal. Plastic surgeons can harness the immense power of these social media platforms to share BodyTite body contouring before and after pictures. This will help users understand more about this innovative body contouring procedure.

YouTube, Facebook, and Pinterest are some popular image-sharing platforms. Sharing BodyTite body contouring before and after images on such digital platforms can greatly enhance the surgeon’s efforts to educate their target audiences.

On top of all of this, a patient can perhaps see even more images during the consultation which is crucial anyway before any treatment or procedure.

How much does BodyTite contouring cost?

shutterstock_114975982-300x186 How much does BodyTite contouring cost? Dallas Plastic SurgeonThe FDA-cleared BodyTite device is designed to remove fat and tighten the skin at the same time. This procedure is a radio frequency assisted lipolysis, or RFAL, which is performed in-office with the patient under local anesthesia.

The main goal of a committed surgeon will be to explain to the patient about the benefits, limitations, alternative treatment solutions and costs, and enable them to make an enlightened decision on BodyTite.

The patient should openly ask questions about the costs and other facets of the procedure. BodyTite body contouring is usually undertaken as an elective cosmetic surgery, which means that the patient will likely not receive insurance coverage for this procedure.

Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides BodyTite body contouring to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding communities.

Cost Comparison

BodyTite body contouring procedure is significantly more cost-effective than a cosmetic surgery procedure such as liposuction. A surgical procedure usually involves general anesthesia costs, surgeon’s fee, surgical venue costs, and some pre and post-operative expenses.

In comparison, BodyTite body contouring is an in-office procedure that can be carried out under local anesthesia. This will help the patient avoid costs associated with a surgical procedure.

Before making a decision on the procedure, the patient may compare the costs of BodyTite body contouring with other non-surgical procedures such as CoolSculpting or laser skin resurfacing. Each procedure has its own benefits and limitations as well as associated costs.

Some of these procedures may cost less than BodyTite body contouring treatment, but may not deliver the same results. Due to these factors, it is advisable for the patient to assess their budget, skin condition, and cosmetic objectives before making a final decision.

Treatment Extent

BodyTite body contouring treatment costs may sometimes vary slightly between two practices and even between two patients at the same practice depending on the extent of treatment that a specific patient requires. The treatment cost can be determined on the basis of the number of areas to be treated or on a per hour rate, based on the pricing policy of a practice.

In case the surface area to be treated is substantial involving multiple body sites, the costs of BodyTite body contouring may be proportionately higher. Some patients may need only subtle enhancements in a specific region involving minimal treatment.

Others may require periodic monitoring and follow-up treatments to attain their cosmetic goals. In each circumstance, the procedure costs may vary.

Cost Factors

BodyTite body contouring costs usually differ between practices and patients. The area where a particular practice is located also affects the costs. The cost of living and real estate costs are usually higher in prime urban centers compared to small interior towns.

This cost difference will also translate to the costs of products and services in various areas, including the cost of cosmetic procedures such as BodyTite body contouring. On top of this, the skill, qualification, and experience of the treatment provider will also affect the dollar amount of the treatment.

Financing

It is likely that the patient will have to pay out-of-pocket for an elective procedure such as BodyTite body contouring. But they may consider the various financing options available.

Many third-party professional medical care financing companies now offer specialized loans for cosmetic procedures. These loans feature quick approvals, lower interest rates, and convenient monthly installments of up to 60 months.

What is FaceTite face contouring?

A number of factors such as smoking, sun exposure, heredity, and the aging process can significantly affect your skin, especially in the face, jowls, and neck. The FaceTite procedure is an excellent non-surgical treatment option for people who want to look as young as they feel.

Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides FaceTite face contouring to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding locations.

FaceTite Overview

FaceTite is a minimally-invasive contouring procedure for the face and other small body areas. This safe, effective, and innovative treatment offers significant cosmetic changes to patients. FaceTite is based on RFAL technology involving the three-dimensional re-contouring of the tissue.

In comparison to a facelift, FaceTite is the next best thing. The treatment includes built-in safeguards, such as real-time measurements of fat and skin temperature, power cut-off, impedance monitoring, and audible feedback to ensure the patient’s safety.

FaceTite from InMode offers patients a youthful and rejuvenated appearance without significant surgical scars or an extended healing process. According to peer-reviewed clinical studies, patients experience up to 36 percent tissue contraction following FaceTite treatment. The outcome is a well-contoured facial appearance.

FaceTite can be successfully used in any area above the shoulders, but it is recommended for the skin around the:

  • Neck
  • Jowls
  • Forehead
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Jawline
  • Eyes
  • Brow
  • Cheeks
  • Mouth

Benefits

  • Directional thermal field helps coagulate fat and remodel tissue.
  • Dual temperature technologies offer higher safety and control in comparison to other technologies.
  • 100 percent energy concentration in the treatment area.

Technology

FaceTite is based on technology that comprises a non-aspirating cannula with a plastic end tip. This enables the procedure to take place safely in the sub-dermal plane.

Computer-controlled radiofrequency energy heats the skin. This is a technology that has been in use in MRI machines and other medical equipment for more than 75 years.

A significant benefit of FaceTite is that a majority of patients require only one treatment session to achieve their desired results. This is an outpatient procedure and does not warrant general anesthesia. Therefore, it can be undertaken and completed in a single day.

Expected Outcomes

These procedures have a transformative impact on facial skin, making it smoother, tauter, and more youthful looking. Patients experience significant rejuvenation and reduction in facial signs of aging almost instantaneously.

They will experience a major reduction in fat and a significant improvement in skin firmness. This procedure also does not create the lumpy, uneven appearance sometimes attributed to liposuction.

The treatment outcomes will sustain for up to five years. After that, the skin will continue to age in a natural manner. The patient’s genetics, as well as lifestyle choices, will also have an impact on the effectiveness of the procedure.

Recovery

FaceTite recovery is incredibly low-impact with no overnight hospital stay, no sutures, no downtime, and almost no post-treatment scarring or bruising.

The procedure involves only local anesthetic, and many risks and extended recovery associated with traditional invasive surgery are entirely eliminated for the patient. Rather, patients typically experience minimal pain and a quick recovery process.

FaceTite has been designed to treat delicate skin without causing cellular tissue damage. The applicator device has in-built thermal controls to ensure complete patient safety.

Questions to Ask Your Plastic Surgeon About Breast Implant Removal

shutterstock_71240440-252x300 Questions to Ask Your Plastic Surgeon About Breast Implant Removal Dallas Plastic SurgeonSometimes breast implants may rupture, be displaced, or contract due to improper placement or pressure from scar tissue. In such cases, the patient may require a breast implant removal surgery.

The patient will be able to ask the surgeon questions and express her concerns regarding the surgeon’s background or the breast implant removal procedure during the pre-op consultation process.

Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides breast implant removal surgery to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding communities.

Are you board certified in plastic surgery?

A detailed procedure such as breast implant removal plastic surgery should ideally be undertaken by a highly skilled, experienced, and board certified plastic surgeon.

Surgeons who have board certification typically invest in high quality and best practices, adopt cutting-edge surgical techniques, pursue continuing education, and follow the latest safety protocols to provide their patients with excellent results.

Have you performed breast implant revisions previously?

Plastic surgery is an extensive field where some surgeons may be experts in facial and body surgeries, but not as proficient in procedures related to the breasts.

The patient should ideally work with a surgeon with significant experience and a proven track record of successful breast procedures in order to achieve the best possible results.

Would you recommend breast lift along with breast implant removal in my case?

Prior to the breast implant revision surgery, the surgeon will understand the complications related to the patient’s breast augmentation and advise them on a suitable course of action.

If the patient wishes to have their implants replaced, the surgeon will recommend plastic surgery options such as breast lift surgery, which can be undertaken simultaneously with the implant removal. If the patient has sagging breast skin because of prolonged stretching by the implants, they may require a breast lift as well.

What are the estimated breast implant removal costs at your practice?

Breast implant removal is generally an elective plastic surgery. Therefore, the patient will likely not receive insurance coverage for this procedure. This makes the cost of the implant removal a vital factor for many patients to be able to make a well-considered decision on this surgery.

What are the risks related to breast implant removal surgery?

Breast implant removal also has some inherent risks and complications associated with it, similar to any surgical procedure. It is crucial for the patient to comprehend these risks and potential side effects prior to making a decision on the procedure.

Which types of breast implants are easier to remove?

In the case of saline implant removal, the surgeon may deflate the implant prior to removing it as this will enable easier removal.

Implant removal may be more complex than the initial placement, especially if the outer shell is foam covered or textured. At times, along with the implant, the surgeon may also have to remove the surrounding muscle and tissue.

How extended and painful will the recovery phase be?

The recovery duration is a vital part of any breast revision procedure. The patient should be clear on the estimated downtime associated with the surgery and understand when she will be able to see the final results of the procedure. Patients should prepare for at least one week’s absence from work or social engagements to recover from this procedure.

What should you expect during a consultation for breast implant removal?

shutterstock_60968809-200x300 What should you expect during a consultation for breast implant removal? Dallas Plastic SurgeonFor women who are dissatisfied with the outcomes of their breast augmentation, or those who experience complications with breast implants may be suitable candidates for saline or silicone breast implant removal surgery.

This procedure might become necessary if the primary breast augmentation was not performed correctly. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides breast implant removal surgery to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding locations.

Choosing between Implant Removal and Replacement

The surgeon will determine the reasons for the breast augmentation complications and advise the patient on a course of action prior to the breast implant revision surgery.

In case the patient chooses to undergo breast implant replacement, this procedure will be carried out during the breast implant removal surgery.

However, if the patient requires only breast implant removal, the surgeon will advise them on plastic surgery options such as breast lift surgery. These can be undertaken simultaneously with the breast implant removal surgery.

Before the surgery, the surgeon will evaluate the implants and the surrounding tissue for leakage, inflammation, infection, and rupture.

Informing the Patient

At the time of the initial consultation, a dedicated surgeon will inform the patient on all facets of breast implant removal to enable her to make an informed choice. The surgeon will explain the breast removal surgery benefits, risks, steps involved, and the estimated recovery duration following the procedure.

The surgeon will also ensure that the patient is choosing to undergo the procedure without any influence or pressure from someone else. Well-informed patients are able to make a more enlightened decision on breast implant removal surgery and usually achieve higher levels of satisfaction as well.

Ideal Candidates

A top priority for the surgeon during a breast implant removal consultation is establishing the patient as a candidate for this procedure. The surgeon will perform a general medical examination and assess the breast anatomy, skin texture, and elasticity.

In addition, the surgeon will evaluate the medical and surgical history of the patient and may order medical tests, if required. They will incorporate the aesthetic goals of the patient into the breast surgery plan.

Guidelines for Preparation and Recovery

If the patient smokes, the surgeon will require them to stop smoking for several weeks before and after the breast surgery.

Furthermore, they may also change the patient’s schedule for prescription medications, blood thinners, and herbal supplements in discussion with the prescribing doctor.

Developing Reasonable Expectations

During the pre-op consultation process, some surgeons may show the patient before and after breast implant surgery pictures of previous patients to help her develop reasonable expectations from the procedure. Patients with realistic expectations are typically more satisfied with the final outcome and feel more confident.

The surgeon may also present testimonials of previous patients to the new patient to help her understand the procedure from the perspective of another patient. In addition, the patient may request for a short office tour to acquaint herself with the surgeon’s practice.

Rhinoplasty Nose Surgery: Nasal Fractures

shutterstock_53245702-copy-300x300 Rhinoplasty Nose Surgery: Nasal Fractures Dallas Plastic SurgeonNasal fractures occur in almost 40 percent of all bone injuries in cases of trauma to the face. The treatment commences with primary care.

This involves an assessment of the extent of the injury, establishing the reasons for the injury, and evaluating the nasal and facial condition before the injury.

An experienced nose surgeon can provide suitable treatment for a nasal fracture. Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides rhinoplasty to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding communities.

Types of Nasal Fractures

There are different types of nasal fractures. Some nasal fractures can lead to problems in breathing, or a crooked or deformed nose if left untreated. The patient can sustain a fracture in any area in the nasal “bony pyramid” which is the pyramid-shaped bony structure that projects out from the face.

Different types of osteotomy (the practice of resetting and rejoining bones) are used to repair different types of nasal fractures.

Greenstick Fracture

Greenstick fractures occur along the edges of the nasal bones. These types of fractures are seen mostly in children whose bones are softer and still developing. A child’s bones are very flexible. Therefore, Greenstick fractures are usually partial instead of completely fractured bones.

Saddle Deformity

These nasal fractures are more severe which may lead to the nasal bridge and septum collapsing and becoming concave into the face. This leads to the formation of a saddle-like shape which is noticeable when the face is seen in profile.

This deformity manifests because of acute facial trauma or even due to the disintegration of cartilage after prolonged snorting of drugs. The treatment in such cases will require the rhinoplasty surgeon to use rib bone tissue from the cartilage or a donor to recreate the bridge and septum.

Comminuted Fracture

Comminuted fractures occur when the bone breaks into three or more pieces.  The rhinoplasty surgeon will take out the small bone pieces which can lead to serious complications if left untreated. The nasal bones are aligned into position as well. This condition occurs more commonly in older patients who have weaker bones and experience a nasal fracture.

Le Fort Fractures

At times, severe facial trauma may cause damage to the bones that lie behind the nose (maxillae). The maxillae comprise two bones that make up the palate and upper jaw as well as provide support to nasal structures. This fracture is called Le Fort fracture. These fractures are classified into three types.

Le Fort I fracture may occur in a horizontal position causing damage to the jawline and nostril. Le Fort II fracture leads to damage to the maxillae below the eye sockets around the bridge of the nose. This fracture may extend from the nasal bridge to the mouth corners in an inverted V-shape.

Le Fort III fracture may impact the orbital sockets. These sockets are the bony structure surrounding the eyes. Le Fort fractures are a serious condition, and the patient should seek immediate treatment to prevent any long-term damage to the brain or the palate.

Rhinoplasty Nose Surgery: Nasal Polyps

shutterstock_26787784-200x300 Rhinoplasty Nose Surgery: Nasal Polyps Dallas Plastic SurgeonNasal polyps can occur in many different colors and sizes. They typically range between pink to brownish-yellow in color. Early on, the polyps look like teardrops.

But on becoming larger, they appear similar to grapes on a stem. Polyps can develop in either one or both nostrils simultaneously and may grow alone or in clusters.

The Process

Polyp clusters or large polyps can cause issues in breathing and impact the sense of smell. They can also block sinuses leading to problems such as recurrent infections. The surgeon will examine the patient’s nasal polyps and then recommend an appropriate treatment plan.

Board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan provides rhinoplasty to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding locations.

Who may get nasal polyps?

Between four and 40 percent of the population have nasal polyps. They occur almost two to four times more commonly in men than in women. Individuals with polyps usually develop them in their youth or middle-age.

Polyps tend to occur in people with recurrent sinus infections, asthma, and allergies. Children with cystic fibrosis are also more susceptible to polyp development.

Diagnosis

An experienced surgeon can diagnose nasal polyps simply by inquiring about the patient’s symptoms and assessing their nasal condition. The surgeon will view the nasal polyps within the nose with a lighted device.

To confirm the diagnosis, the surgeon may order the below mentioned tests:

  • CT Scan
  • Nasal Endoscopy
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Skin prick allergy test

Treatment

Steroid Nose Drops or Spray

To treat nasal polyps, the surgeon may prescribe a steroid spray or nasal drops to the patient. This will help reduce the inflammation in the polyps. This is a common treatment for patients who have one or a cluster of small polyps. The side effects of the treatment include:

  • Headache
  • Nosebleeds
  • Sore throat

Steroid Pills

If the patient has larger polyps or severe inflammation, they may require steroid pills. The doctor may prescribe the patient steroid pills by themselves or along with a nasal spray.

While steroids are very effective in reducing the size of the polyps, they may present side-effects such as weight gain. The patient should only take these pills for a few weeks and not a longer period.

Other Medications

Sometimes the surgeon may prescribe other medications to treat any underlying conditions that may be leading to aggravation in the swelling. For instance, they may prescribe antihistamines to treat allergies, antifungal drugs to treat fungal infections, and antibiotics to treat bacterial conditions.

Surgery

If the polyps are substantial in size, or the patient is not responding to other treatments, the surgeon will recommend a surgical procedure for the treatment of the nasal polyps.

Polypectomy

Polypectomy is a common treatment to excise polyps. The patient can undergo this procedure under local or general anesthesia. In this procedure, the surgeon places a long, narrow pipe connected to a camera inside the patient’s nose and sinuses.

How much does Breast Implant Removal Surgery Cost?

shutterstock_31017982-300x198 How much does Breast Implant Removal Surgery Cost? Dallas Plastic SurgeonIf a patient is unhappy with the results of their breast augmentation plastic surgery or develops implant complications, they may need breast implant removal surgery.

At the time of the initial consultation, the surgeon will inform the patient on various aspects of the breast implant removal surgery, including its approximate costs.

Khan Plastic Surgery, led by prudent board certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Farah Naz Khan, provides breast implant removal to patients in Dallas, Texas, and surrounding communities in the majestic Lone Star State.

Cost Variations

Breast implant removal costs can vary as depending on the complexity and length of the surgery. Implant removal surgery may sometimes be more complex than the primary breast augmentation procedure, and as a result, may cost more than the primary surgery.

If there was an error on the part of the surgeon, they might perform the implant removal surgery at no cost. The patient should review their practice policy on this aspect for more clarity before they go ahead with a breast implant procedure.

The cost of the implant removal procedure will also depend on whether the patient seeks an implant replacement along with the removal. Breast implant removal (without replacement) usually involves a breast lift which will increase the procedure costs.

If the patient seeks an implant replacement, the procedure will be relatively simpler but will involve the cost of the new implants.

Breast Implant Removal with Lift

Over time, breast implants can stretch the skin tissue leading to elasticity loss. For patients choosing implant removal at a later stage, a breast lift cosmetic surgery may be necessary.

Only an experienced plastic surgeon should perform this procedure for desirable outcomes after the implant removal. In case a breast removal procedure is done along with a breast lift, the surgeon’s fee, surgical facility costs, and recovery costs may be slightly higher.

Other Financial Factors

Breast implant removal costs may differ between practices depending on their geographical location. The real estate and overhead costs are typically higher in main urban centers, popular tourist destinations, and coastal cities. In these locations, the average costs of goods and services, including plastic surgery costs, will usually be higher.

The breast implant removal surgery will include the charges of an anesthesiologist or anesthetic nurse if the procedure is performed under general anesthesia. The credentials and experience of the professionals will determine the charges.

The implant removal procedure may take place at a hospital, an accredited surgical center, or a private surgical suite. Each venue will have associated costs and benefits.

The breast implant removal surgery will also include pre and post-operative expenses such as medical exams, mammograms, prescription drugs, follow-up consultations, and surgical accessories.
