Breast Revision in Dallas, TX

Breast Revision in Dallas, TX

Model, not actual patient.

Are you unhappy with the size or feel of your breast implants? Or maybe, one of your implants has deflated or formed hard scar tissue around it? If so, you may be a good candidate to undergo breast revision surgery.

What is Breast Revision?

Depending on why you are unhappy with your breast implants, breast revision surgery will be tailored to help address your concerns. If you are unhappy with the size of your implants, they can be exchanged for larger or smaller implants. Similarly, if you do not like the look and/or feel of your saline implants, they can be switched out for silicone implants and vice versa.  If you suffer from capsular contracture, or scar tissue that has formed around your implants, breast revision surgery can help provide you with a more pleasing breast shape by removing the capsule and exchanging your old implants for new ones.

How is it performed?

Usually, your old incisions will be used to access your breast implants. However, a new incision underneath the breast may need to be made.  Your existing implants will be removed and new ones will be placed. Depending on the original pocket size and location, the pocket may need to be modified or a new one may need to be created. If there is extensive scar tissue, this will be removed and the tissues surrounding the implant may need to be repositioned to allow for better positioning of the implant itself. Drains may need to be placed. The incisions are typically closed with internal sutures and surgical adhesive and/or tape are applied as dressings.

What to expect after surgery?

When you have breast revision surgery at our Dallas, Texas facility, your procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, meaning you will go home the same day as your surgery. You will have bandages covering your incision sites and you may have drains that will need to be emptied 3-4 times/day. You will be given oral pain medication to help with any soreness that you may feel after your surgery. You may shower the next day and our office will see you later in the day to monitor your recovery. Bruising and swelling are common after this type of surgery and will subside over a couple of weeks.
